This page is for public information only and is not a distress communication channel. If you have an emergency and need Coast Guard assistance, use VHF-FM Channel 16 (156.8 MHz), dial 911 or call your nearest Coast Guard Unit.

Flotilla 4-1's meeting are held at the Jubilee Yacht Club (pictured above) located on Water Street, Beverly, MA.

Flotilla 4-1 members routinely present public safety classes, perform courtesy vessel safety checks (VSCs), visit marine dealers, perform safety patrols afloat and ashore, support Coast Guard Aids to Navigation (ATON) activity, augment active duty personnel where needed, and support other missions as directed by the Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard.

Vessel Safety Checks (V.S.C.). These examinations are provided to boat owners wishing to have a free, courtesy check of their boat's safety equipment. While performing the V.S.C, a Flotilla 4-1 Vessel Examiner conducts a "one-on-one" educational session with the boat owner. Thus providing the boat owner with an opportunity to ask questions and obtain the latest information on safety equipment and regulations.  Vessel Safety Checks are free examinations of your boat and safety equipment by a qualified Vessel Examiner.

Flotilla 4-1 also conducts classes in Boating Safety. Classes are conducted several times a year. The schedules are posted on this web site on the Boating Course page. Boating Safety Classes cover such topics as safety equipment, which boat is for you, basic boat handling, weather, trailering your boat and many other topics related to enhancing skills and safety in recreational boating.

Members of Flotilla 4-1 are also active in conducting safety patrols. They can be found on most weekends, holidays, and some weekdays during the Summer, assisting the recreational boater and helping to keep our waterways safe.
